FEB 12 (V7N) - Partial results from Chattogram-9 constituency show BNP candidate Mohammad Abu Sufian, contesting with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol, in the lead. Out of 121 polling centres, results from 76 have been received so far.

Sufian has secured 66,477 votes, while his nearest rival, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Dr. A.K.M. Fazlul Hoque, running with the Scales symbol, has obtained 31,330 votes.

The early tally indicates a strong advantage for the BNP candidate, though final results are yet to be announced.
