Dhaka, Oct 2 (V7N) – LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan today said if any mistake is identified in government activities, the authorities will take steps to correct it, emphasizing that the government always welcomes constructive criticism.

"The government always welcomes constructive criticism. If any mistake is identified in government activities, the authorities will take steps to correct it," he told a discussion on various development activities of the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) at its auditorium in Kakrail.

Moyeen urged everyone to refrain from criticising the government through false information or propaganda, according to a press release. He also called upon all concerned to play a responsible role in maintaining a democratic environment and stability.

Speaking as a special guest at the meeting, State Minister **Mir Shahe Alam** said separate funds and necessary allocations should be ensured for regular maintenance at the field level by the DPHE. He underlined the need for taking initiatives to generate energy from waste in major cities and introduce low-cost waste management systems in smaller municipalities and upazilas. He also called for increasing the supply of safe water by treating water from rivers and ponds in order to reduce pressure on groundwater.

Local Government Division Secretary Md Shahidul Hassan, DPHE Chief Engineer Md Jamanur Rahman and officials concerned were present at the programme.
