BNP Vice President Advocate Md. Zainul Abedin addresses a public gathering at Jhalakathi Government Boys' High School ground, urging the government to prioritize national elections over local polls.
Jhalkathi, Feb 23 (V7N) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Vice President Advocate Md. Zainul Abedin has urged the government not to attempt holding local government elections before the national elections. He made this statement while addressing a public gathering organized by the BNP at the Jhalkathi Government Boys' High School ground on Saturday afternoon.
The rally was organized by BNP to demand the implementation of the 31-point reform agenda for the state structure, keeping essential commodity prices affordable, improving deteriorating law and order, and countering the conspiracy of fascism.
In his speech as the chief guest, the BNP leader stated, "Stop procrastinating and hold the national elections. Do not try to conduct local government elections before the national elections. If you do, the people will not accept it. Please arrange for the national elections."
The main speaker of the event was Md. Rofiqul Islam Jamal, the central religious affairs secretary of BNP. Special guests included Akon Kuddusur Rahman, the central organizational secretary of BNP, Md. Mahabubul Haque Nannu, central member Md. Haidar Ali Lelin, and Jeba Amina Al Gazi. The rally was presided over by Md. Syed Hossain, the convenor of Jhalkathi District BNP, and the event was moderated by Advocate Shahadat Hossain, the district BNP secretary.
