Pabna, Mar 23 (V7N) - Junaid Saki, the Chief Coordinator of the Ganosanhati Andolan, has demanded immediate justice against the Awami League leaders who ordered the mass killings. He emphasized that the Awami League, as a party, should be held accountable for the violent crackdown during the July-August upheavals.

Saki criticized the slow progress of justice, saying that seven months have passed since the coup, yet the judicial process has not made any significant headway. This delay has led to widespread frustration among the people, and their anger is evident in various forms, he added.

He made these remarks on Saturday, March 22, while attending a discussion on 'New Political Arrangements and Its Outline' followed by an Iftar gathering at a community center in Pabna, organized by the Ganosanhati Andolan Pabna District Branch.

Saki further stated that the Indian media and ruling party aim to portray Bangladesh as a breeding ground for Islamic extremism on the global stage. He also mentioned that in Bangladesh, mobs under the guise of 'Tawhidi Janata' are creating chaos by attacking shrines and instigating violence. Saki warned that the narrative being pushed by Indian media, which is being echoed in the United States, is a cause for serious concern.

The event was presided over by Zulhasnain Babu, Convener of Ganosanhati Andolan, Pabna District, and conducted by the district secretary Sheikh Azharul Islam Azhar. Special guests at the event included Abul Hasan Rubel, the Executive Coordinator of Ganosanhati Andolan, Advocate Arshad Alam, President of the BNP Lawyers’ Association, Pabna District, and other distinguished figures like Captain Dr. Sarwar Jahan Fayez, poet Kotha Hasnat, prominent social worker Ayman Jan Chowdhury, and leaders from different local units of Ganosanhati Andolan.
