Jhalokathi, Nov 22 (V7N) – Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman emphasized the importance of transparent and participatory elections, promising that representatives will be elected by the people’s vote. He warned against any attempts at coercion or vote manipulation, stating that such efforts will be firmly resisted by the public. Dr. Shafiqur said that the upcoming elections could create a historic turning point for the nation.

He delivered his speech on Saturday afternoon at the National Representative Conference held at Nesarabad Madrasa Grounds in Jhalokathi. Dr. Shafiqur affirmed that any attempt at vote engineering or center takeover would be met with a strong response, and the party’s struggle against oppression, fascism, and divisive forces will continue unabated.

Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, present as a guest, urged Islamic parties to unite and collectively participate in the elections to make history. Other speakers included Khalafat Majlis Amir Maulana Abdul Bashid Azad, National Citizens Party General Secretary Akhtar Hossain, AB Party General Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, and BNP Central Committee Religious Affairs Secretary Rafiqul Islam Jamal, among others.

Speakers stressed that unity among Islamic political parties could ensure victory in the next national parliamentary elections. They also asserted that the nation’s future direction should be determined by the people and by forces upholding Islamic values.

The conference was presided over by Nesarabadi Huzur Maulana Khalilur Rahman and attended by thousands of devout Muslims. The representative conference was held on the second day of the annual Waz Mahfil at Nesarabad Darbar Sharif.
