Khagrachhari, June 28 (V7N)- Paru Chakma (32), a student of Food and Nutrition Science. She works as a head teacher at a private primary school. There are no salaries or other benefits from the school. Every day there is an expenditure of one hundred rupees at the school.

This money had to be taken from the husband every day. Occasionally he thought of quitting his job. However, during the Corona period, when it was known that many people started online business, online business encouraged him. She started online business by giving Tk 7,000 given by her mother-in-law. Arna, a resident of Milonpur area of Khagrachhari, read economics at Dhaka Home Economics College.

Her husband, Nobel Chakma, worked for the government. Since college, she dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur. But the dream faded after marriage and family. However, now Arna Chakma is dreaming of spreading mountain attire and handicrafts more across the country.

On social media, Paru Chakma has a page called 'Chabugi' under her own name. Through this, online business is going on. Success in this prompted her to start a sales center named 'Chabugi' in Milonpur area of Khagrachhari town. She has three tailors and one employee for shop viewing. In the Chakma language, 'Chabugi' means 'the colorful flowers embroidered on the pins of Chakma women'. A six-year-old daughter named Chabugi Chakma gave her this name.

Arna Chakma of Milonpur has heard the story of becoming an entrepreneur after completing her graduation and post-graduation in Food and Nutrition Science. I used to like to dress and decorate my house in childhood. Especially those who used to come home used to like the handicrafts made by the mountainous women on the walls of our house. Many liked to buy. Seeing my work, my husband wanted me to do something with it. Because of being young, I was afraid. Later, with the advice of my husband and mother-in-law, I started thinking about business with mountain attire and handicrafts.

At the end of 2019, Susila Chakma started with Tk 7,000 given by Chakma. It was known to acquaintances. Later opened a Facebook page. In addition to traditional mountain attire, various types of attire, shoes, bags, saris, tripics, jewelery, and traditional mountain handicrafts such as full barng, mehjang, hulleng, bandar sanghu were promoted. Now mountain people from various regions of the country are buying attire and especially handicrafts from him.

Charu Chakma said that it is very difficult to sell good things. Bamboo items are broken very soon. Carers live in remote areas. They go directly to the remote areas and bring goods and face problems in packaging and delivery online. However, Nobel Chakma cooperates in these areas.

However, Paru Chakma said that there will be challenges in business. But there is also enjoyment of personal necessity and giving gifts to someone. However, if the family was not on the side, it would not have been possible for a woman to take up business.

Arna Chakma has grown up in the Mirzabil area of Panchari Upazila. Graduated from SSC from the village school. Passed HSC from Khagrachhari Government College and Graduated in Economics from Dhaka Home Economics. ¯ Graduated from Graduation.

Starting with Tk 7,000 online, Paru Chakma's current capital is Tk 6 lakh. Initially started with Alam. Now he has joined Pinon-Hadi, Tripurader Renai-Richa, Burji, Komar Tant's table runner, cushion cover, Hadi Orna, shirt, dhoti, bache's attire. In addition, traditional mountain handicraft items such as full barng, mehjang, hulleng, bandar sanghu, kul, daba etc. are also being sold by him.

Although business income and area have increased, he does not want to stop here. Wants to stay here. Paru wants to spread mountain attire and handicrafts all over the world.
