Sept 20 V7N- In the first Test between Bangladesh and India at the M Chidambaram Stadium, Bangladesh's batting crumbled, managing just 149 runs in their first innings. Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah led the charge with impressive figures of 4-50, while his teammates Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each. Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan top-scored with 32, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz remained unbeaten on 27.

India, having posted 376 in their first innings, secured a strong 227-run lead. Despite starting the day at 339-6, India lost their last four wickets for just 37 runs, thanks to Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud's 5-83 and Taskin Ahmed's 3-55.
