Nov 27, (V7N) - A ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, brokered by the United States and France, came into effect at 0200 GMT on Wednesday. This ceasefire is intended to bring an end to the hostilities that erupted along the Israeli-Lebanese border following the Gaza conflict. The agreement, which was approved by Israel's security cabinet, includes provisions for the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces over 60 days, with the Lebanese army taking control of southern Lebanon to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its infrastructure.

While Hezbollah has not formally commented on the ceasefire, a senior official expressed support for the extension of Lebanon's state authority, though he indicated that Hezbollah would emerge from the conflict stronger. The ceasefire is intended to provide civilians on both sides of the border with a chance to return safely to their homes.
