Gaza, Apr 14 (V7N) – At least 39 Palestinians were killed and over 100 injured in the past 24 hours as Israeli airstrikes continue to pound the besieged Gaza Strip. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the total death toll since the Israeli assault began in October 2023 has now reached 50,983, with more than 116,274 injured.

The renewed wave of violence began on March 18, following a brief ceasefire that had been in place since January 19, when Israel agreed to halt operations under international pressure, particularly from the United States. The latest offensive has left 1,613 Palestinians dead and more than 4,200 injured, as reported by the Turkish news agency Anadolu.

Despite the ongoing bombardment, many victims remain trapped under rubble or lie unattended in the streets due to the dire security and humanitarian situation, which has severely hindered rescue efforts.

According to the United Nations, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached catastrophic levels. Approximately 85 percent of the population has been forcibly displaced, and 60 percent of the enclave’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed by Israeli military operations.

In November 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza.

Israel, as the occupying power, is also facing genocide allegations at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over its continued aggression in the territory.
