In a symbolic gesture of protest against the ongoing genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip, human rights activists have renamed the road in front of the Israeli embassy in London as 'Genocide Street'. The move underscores growing international condemnation of Israel's actions in Palestine.

According to reports from Iran's state news agency IRNA, activists hung a symbolic placard on the renamed road, drawing attention to the atrocities unfolding in Gaza. The act, orchestrated by workers from the international human rights organization Amnesty International, aims to raise global awareness of the ongoing crisis and hold Israel accountable for its actions.

Tom Guha, a representative of Amnesty International, emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that the Israeli government must acknowledge the possibility of facing prosecution for genocide. The renaming of the street serves as a stark reminder of the human toll of the conflict and the need for immediate action to end the violence.

In addition to renaming the street, Amnesty International staff in London plan to deliver a letter to the Israeli embassy, signed by executive director Sasha Deshmukh. The letter will urge Israeli diplomats to cease their ongoing crimes in Gaza and uphold human rights principles.

The protest comes in the wake of a major military operation launched by the Hamas government in Gaza last year, triggering a wave of airstrikes and ground attacks by Israel.
