MOSCOW, Aug 7, (V7N) - Ukrainian drones struck a warehouse owned by Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries hundreds of miles away from the frontline on Friday, in the latest of a series of attacks targeting its facilities.
"Firefighters have been deployed to the company's logistics centre in Yekaterinburg... where a fire broke out due to an attack," Wildberries said in a statement, adding that all employees had been evacuated safely.
Regional Governor Denis Pasler said three drones hit the roof of the warehouse early Friday without causing casualties in the city, located more than 2,000 kilometres (1,250 miles) from the Ukrainian border.
Since mid-July, Ukraine has targeted around 20 facilities belonging to Wildberries, the online retail platform often referred to as Russia's Amazon.
More than four years after Russia launched its full-scale offensive against Ukraine, diplomatic efforts remain stalled while both sides have intensified long-range strikes, leading to a rising number of civilia casualties.
