Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri granted bail to Pakistan's former prime minister Imran Khan in a £190 million land corruption case on Wednesday, as reported by The Dawn.

The verdict comes after Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were accused of receiving the land as a gift in exchange for illegally aiding a housing businessman during Khan's tenure as prime minister. Imran Khan has consistently denied these allegations. Following the accusations, Khan applied for bail to the Islamabad High Court.

A lawyer representing Imran Khan's party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), confirmed the grant of bail on social media. However, despite being granted bail in the land corruption case, Imran Khan will not be released from prison immediately as he is serving sentences in two other cases.

Imran Khan faced a series of charges, including corruption and terrorism, after being ousted through a motion of no confidence by the opposition in April 2022. He has been in jail since August of the previous year after being convicted in the Toshakhana case, followed by convictions in other cases such as cipher and illegal marriage cases.
