According to sources related to the intersection construction project, the intersection has been constructed at the zero point (roundabout) at a cost of about 31 crore rupees. The construction work has already been completed. Only road marking work is left. Then in the 2nd phase, to make the area of the Round Square of Zero Point more attractive and beautiful, beautiful sculptures and water fountains will be installed around the circle of the Round Square.

The Khulna Roads and Public Roads Department (SOAZ) took the initiative to construct an intersection at Zero Point in 2022 to modernize Zero Point (Roundabout) to make it attractive and attractive by facilitating traffic flow, decongesting traffic, maintaining traffic discipline and sewerage system at Zero Point, the entrance of Khulna city.According to Soaz sources, the cost of the project is estimated at 30 crore 89 lakh 92 thousand 478 taka.
After receiving the work order, the contractor started construction of the intersection from January 3, 2023. The circle of intersection is 72 meters circular. A 21m wide walkway has been constructed between the two circles with a small circle and 1 circle between the big circle. The intersection has been raised 2 feet above the existing road level. The 2nd phase will feature modern metallic sculptures in the middle of the circle, along with a spectacular and attractive water fountain.
Sodium lights shall be installed in 3 foot dividers in the center of the concrete cast road. Rigid pavement or RCC casting road has been constructed up to 198 meters from circular to Afilgate direction, 49.5 meters towards Rupsa Bridge, 108.5 meters towards Satkhira road and 23.5 meters towards Mylapota road. Besides, the circular and intersection roads constructed at Zero Point will be transformed into sparkling lights in the style of the Middle East.
HM Shoaib and Gopal Kumar Saha, Deputy Assistant Engineers of Khulna Sewage, engaged in the work of supervising the construction of the intersection, said that the construction of the intersection at zero point, the entrance of Khulna city, has been completed. Metallic sculptures will be placed inside the circle to make Zero Point more attractive and visually appealing.
Lighting will be provided. At the same time, a proposal of 35 crore rupees has been prepared and sent to the Ministry for the beautification of the road from Mylapota to Zero Point and from Zero Point to Kudirbatt.
