Feb 03 (V7N) – Noah Lyles continued his dominance on the track with a commanding victory in the men’s 60m, while Grant Holloway extended his 11-year unbeaten streak in the 60m hurdles at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on Sunday.

The reigning Olympic and world 100m champion clocked an impressive 6.52 seconds, holding off Bahamas' Terrence Jones (6.57sec) and P.J. Austin (6.60sec) to take the win.

Italy’s Marcell Jacobs, the Tokyo Olympic 100m champion, finished fourth in 6.63 seconds in what was a highly anticipated showdown.

Lyles, who dominated the Paris Olympics last year, admitted that shifting focus to a new season wasn’t easy.

"I'm not gonna act like it's easy, it's a little difficult," Lyles said. "But I know there's a job to be done. My first job is to make sure that everybody knows that even though I won the (Olympic) medal, I'll go everywhere and I'm gonna win because I'm the world's fastest man."

Meanwhile, Grant Holloway—the reigning Olympic 110m hurdles champion—claimed victory in the 60m hurdles, clocking a season-best 7.42 seconds.

Fred Crittenden (7.54sec) and Cordell Tinch (7.54sec) completed the podium, but Holloway’s dominance in indoor hurdles racing remained unchallenged.

Holloway, who has not lost an indoor hurdles race since 2014, said he’s now focused on cementing his legacy.

"I've been doing this for so long. I've accomplished all my goals. So now it's just about motivating the youth and continuing to build whatever I got to do," he said.

However, he joked about being labeled the greatest of all time (G.O.A.T.), saying:

"I don't even want to be the GOAT. Usually, when people start calling themselves the GOAT, that's when they get worse."

Women’s 60m Hurdles: Masai Russell won comfortably in 7.80 seconds, edging Grace Stark (7.81sec) and Bahamas' Devynne Charlton (7.85sec).

Women’s 300m: Julien Alfred, St. Lucia’s first-ever Olympic champion, clocked an electrifying 36.16 seconds to win ahead of Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith (36.87sec) and France’s Emma Montoya (38.37sec).

Men’s 300m: Olympic 400m hurdles champion Rai Benjamin cruised to victory in 32.21 seconds, finishing ahead of Vernon Norwood (32.39sec) and Matthew Boling (32.82sec).

As the indoor season heats up, Lyles, Holloway, and other stars are already setting the tone for another thrilling year in track and field.
