Youth and Sports Minister Nazmul Hassan has conveyed his profound condolences on the passing of Razia Khatun, a former member of the national women's football team.

Razia, known for her role in the Bangladesh U-18 SAFF Championship-winning team in 2018, tragically passed away today at 4 pm at her residence in Satkhira district due to complications from childbirth.

Minister Hassan expressed deep sorrow, highlighting Razia's significant contributions to women's football in Bangladesh. He emphasized her stellar performance and noted that her loss is deeply felt within the football community. The minister extended heartfelt sympathies to Razia's family and prayed for her soul's eternal peace.

Razia Khatun played a pivotal role in Bangladesh's victory over Nepal in the final of the U-18 Women's SAFF Championship held in Bhutan, where Bangladesh emerged as champions with a 1-0 win. As a member of the championship-winning team, Razia was honored by the Prime Minister, receiving a commendation and a cash prize of ten lakh Taka.
