Taskin Ahmed, a fast bowler for Bangladesh, seems to be communicating his wish to miss the forthcoming Test series against Sri Lanka in order to give his injured shoulder some much-needed rest. According to reports, Taskin has asked the cricket board to hold off on considering him for a Test match right now. Jalal Younus, the head of BCB's cricket operations committee, stated that they will talk to Taskin about the situation and honor his choice if he chooses not to play in the extended version format.

Known for being prone to injuries throughout his career, Taskin Ahmed has allegedly written to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) stating his desire to temporarily take a vacation from Test cricket in order to concentrate more on white-ball cricket. Despite suffering injuries, Taskin has proven his mental toughness and became Bangladesh's leading pacer.

Due to a shoulder rupture sustained during the World Cup, Taskin was unable to participate in the international competition or the series that followed against New Zealand. Following a rehabilitation program, he returned to professional cricket with Durdanto Dhaka in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), where he managed his injury.

The fast bowler is reluctant to get surgery for his shoulder ailment since it would mean missing more than a year of cricket action and a protracted recuperation period. Due to injury concerns, Taskin has also had difficulty playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the past two years. Previously, Mustafizur Rahman, another pacer, had asked to be kept out of Test cricket for identical reasons. Nonetheless, Mustafizur received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play consistently in the Indian Premier League (IPL), whereas Taskin and Shoriful did not receive one because of their participation in the longer format..
