The defending champions Bashundhara Kings faced up against Dhaka Mohammedan SC in an exciting sixth-round match at the Bashundhara Kings Arena. In the fortyth minute of play, Minhajur Abedin Rakib's game-winning goal for the traditional Blacks startled the boisterous Kings supporters. Despite suffering their first defeat of the season, Bashundhara Kings continue to dominate the league table with 15 points, ahead of Federation Cup champions Mohammedan SC, who have 14 points from six games played.
In the other match of the day, Chittagong Abahani Ltd got their first win in the league by defeating former champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club 2-0 at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj. After a goalless first half, midfielder Mannaf Rabi put Abahani ahead in the 52nd minute and Nigerian forward David Ifegwu sealed the win with a second goal in stoppage time (90+1 minutes).
The match between Fortis FC and the bottom Brothers Union Club ended in a 2-2 draw at the Muktijodha Smriti Stadium in Rajshahi. Brothers Union went ahead with defender Rabi Hasan's goal in the 9th minute but Fortis SC's Gambian forward Pa Omar equalized from the penalty spot in the 41st minute. Former national team striker Mahbubur Rahman Sufil put Brothers Union ahead again in the 69th minute, but Valery Fortis FC of Ukraine equalized in the 78th minute. Fortis FC captain Shaheen Hasan received a straight red card in the match.
Rahmatganj MFS, Fortis FC, Sheikh Russell KC, Chittagong Abahani, and Sheikh Jamal DC have all gained six points following the conclusion of the sixth round matches; their standing is based on goal differential. Brothers Union has three points after six games, which puts them at the bottom of the league standings. The teams are engaged in fierce struggle for supremacy in the ongoing ABG Bashundhara Bangladesh Premier League football season.
