Chattogram, Feb 05 (V7N)- Chittagong Medical College Hospital and the Department of Clinical Oncology jointly organized various events to mark World Cancer Day 2025. The program included a rally and a discussion session on the hospital premises.

The rally commenced from the administrative building of Chittagong Medical College Hospital and circled the medical college campus. Following the rally, a discussion session was held, presided over by Dr. Sazzad Mohammad Yusuf, Head of the Cancer Department and Professor at the college.

The event's chief guest was Professor Dr. Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Principal of Chittagong Medical College. Brigadier General Mohammad Taslim Uddin, Director of the hospital, and Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rob, Vice Principal of the college, attended as special guests.

Dr. Ali Azgar Chowdhury, Associate Professor of the Cancer Department, delivered the keynote address.


Speakers emphasized that every cancer patient’s journey is unique. While some become overwhelmed with despair, others continue their fight with a strong will to survive.

They further highlighted that cancer patients in the Chittagong region now receive world-class treatment, significantly reducing the mortality rate.

It is noteworthy that World Cancer Day is observed annually on February 4. This year’s theme was "United by Unique," emphasizing collective strength in the fight against cancer.
