Dhaka, Mar 30 (V7N) – This year, 1,739 Eid congregations will be held across the capital, with the first congregation at the National Eidgah Maidan at 7 AM and the main congregation at 8:30 AM. Additionally, five separate Eid congregations will take place at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

On Sunday morning, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali inspected the security arrangements at the National Eidgah. He assured that while there is no specific security threat, comprehensive safety measures have been taken considering all possible challenges.

Law enforcement agencies have implemented a five-tier security system for the National Eidgah Maidan and other key Eid congregations in the capital. Security personnel will be deployed in large numbers, including:

  • 15,000 police personnel

  • Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit

  • Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU)

  • Plainclothes detective officers

  • Army personnel

President Mohammad Shahabuddin, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, members of the Advisory Council, and other prominent figures will offer prayers at the main congregation at 8:30 AM at the National Eidgah Maidan.

Authorities have urged worshippers to cooperate with security personnel and follow instructions to ensure a peaceful and orderly Eid celebration.
