Dhaka, Apr 08 (V7N) – Home Affairs Advisor Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury assured the public that there is no security risk or deficiency ahead of the upcoming Pahela Boishakh celebrations. He confirmed that comprehensive security measures are being put in place to ensure a safe and joyful celebration of the Bengali New Year.
Chowdhury made the statement while speaking to reporters at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday (April 8), alongside Cultural Advisor Mustafa Sarwar Farooqui.
He highlighted that Pahela Boishakh will be celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country, including Dhaka, and emphasized that security protocols will be customized based on the risks of specific areas.
Addressing the recent incidents of looting and vandalism in protest against the violence in Gaza, the advisor condemned such acts and stated that they should not have occurred. Chowdhury revealed that 49 individuals have been arrested in connection with the disturbances. The government is committed to remaining vigilant to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future, ensuring the peaceful observance of Pahela Boishakh.
