During bilateral discussions with Riyad Mansour, the Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud underscored the importance of Muslim unity in addressing the Palestine crisis. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the preparatory meeting for the 15th OIC Summit.
Mansour briefed Mahmud on the current situation in Palestine and sought Bangladesh's steadfast support for Palestine in international forums. Mahmud reiterated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's and Bangladesh's strong solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Emphasizing the necessity for OIC member states to present a united front, Mahmud urged for a tougher stance against Israel to bring an end to Israeli aggression towards Palestinians permanently. He highlighted the significance of collective action to resolve the longstanding crisis.
As the leader of the Bangladeshi delegation at the preparatory meeting, Foreign Minister Mahmud affirmed Bangladesh's commitment to supporting Palestine's cause within the OIC framework.
