DHAKA, April 8, (V7N)-  Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin has called on Finnish businesses to explore investment opportunities in Bangladesh’s growing renewable energy sector, particularly in solar and wind power.

He made the appeal during a meeting with a Finnish business delegation led by Jarno Syrjälä, Under-Secretary of State, at his office in the Bangladesh Secretariat earlier today, according to a press release from the Ministry of Commerce.

Highlighting the country's improving investment climate, the adviser said, “Bangladesh now offers a favorable environment for foreign investment, especially in the renewable energy sector.”

He emphasized the need for stronger engagement between the private sectors of both countries to boost bilateral trade and deepen economic ties.

In response, Finland’s Under-Secretary of State Jarno Syrjälä expressed his country’s keen interest in investing in Bangladesh’s renewable energy projects, signaling potential collaboration in the near future.

Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
