Dhaka, Mar 29 (V7N) – The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has intensified security measures across the capital ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, deploying 667 patrol teams and setting up 71 police checkposts to ensure the safety of residents. In addition, special operations will continue after Eid to maintain law and order.

At a press conference held at the DMP Media Center on Saturday (March 29), DMP Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallick stated that law enforcement agencies have increased surveillance at train stations, bus terminals, and launch ghats to prevent any acts of sabotage.

Furthermore, Detective Branch (DB) police are actively working to curb the circulation of counterfeit money, which typically rises ahead of Eid.

To prevent misinformation and rumors from spreading during the festive season, DB’s cyber team has been deployed to monitor online platforms and take action against any suspicious activities.

DMP officials have assured the public that police morale is stronger than ever in handling any security challenges during Eid. With these extensive security measures, authorities aim to provide a safe and peaceful environment for all Dhaka residents.
