Dhaka, Dec 05 (V7N) — Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain, a senior member of the BNP Standing Committee, emphasised the necessity of swift electoral reforms and a clear roadmap for the upcoming national elections to deter any potential conspiracies.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday afternoon at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital, Mosharraf remarked, "If electoral reforms are implemented quickly, no one will dare to conspire against the election process." His comments followed a meeting with the Chief Adviser, Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

Several prominent BNP leaders were present at the meeting, including Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Prof. Dr. A. Z. M. Zahid Hossain.

The gathering also saw participation from leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, led by its chief, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, alongside Secretary General Md. Ghulam Parwar, Naib Amir Professor Mujibur Rahman, and Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim.

Leaders from other political entities, including the People's Rights Parishad, Democracy Manch, Mass Solidarity Movement, Citizen Unity, NPP, and LDP, also attended the meeting, underscoring the collaborative efforts to ensure a credible electoral process.

Earlier, the Chief Adviser met with leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement on Tuesday evening. He is set to meet religious community leaders on Thursday as part of his ongoing dialogue with various political and social groups.

The series of discussions aim to foster consensus on pressing national issues, particularly the upcoming elections, which are being closely monitored both locally and internationally.
