Dhaka, Mar 02 (V7N) – Seven newly appointed members of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) took the oath of office today. Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refat Ahmed administered the oath at the Supreme Court Judges Lounge at 11:30 AM.
With these new appointments, the total number of PSC members, including the chairman, has increased to 16.
Newly Appointed PSC Members
The newly sworn-in PSC members are:
- Professor Dr. Md. Sharif Hessen
- Professor Dr. Ferdous Arfina Osman
- Professor Dr. ATM Farid Uddin
- Retired Brigadier General Anwarul Islam
- Md. Munir Hossain
- Professor Dr. Shahnaz Sarkar
- Sabbir Ahmed Chowdhury
As per Article 139 of the Bangladesh Constitution, these members will serve for five years from the date of assuming office or until they reach the age of 65, whichever comes first.
Notably, the initial appointment notification in January for six members was cancelled by the President due to allegations against some appointees, including their ties to the previous government. Following this, the seven new members were appointed.
