Dhaka, Feb 24 (V7N)- The Cabinet Division has redistributed portfolios among the 10 advisors of the new government led by Tarique Rahman, according to a notification issued on Tuesday (February 24).

Under the Rules of Business, the Prime Minister assigned responsibilities to the advisors, five of whom hold the rank of ministers and five as state ministers.

Advisors with Minister Rank

  • Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan, and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed — Political Advisors

  • Md. Ismail Zabiullah — Ministry of Public Administration

  • Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir — Ministry of Finance and Planning

Advisors with State Minister Rank

  • Humayun Kabir — Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Disaster Management and Relief, Civil Aviation and Tourism

  • Brigadier General (Retd.) Shamsul Islam — Ministry of Defense

  • Zahed Ur Rahman — Ministry of Policy and Strategy

  • Mahdi Amin — Ministry of Education, Primary and Mass Education, Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, Labor and Employment

  • Rehan Asif Asad — Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology, Science and Technology

Background

These advisors were initially appointed on February 17 outside the cabinet with the status of ministers and state ministers. The new distribution clarifies their specific responsibilities, enabling them to work directly under the Prime Minister in managing government functions.

This move strengthens the administrative structure of the new government and ensures advisors can contribute effectively in their respective areas.
