Dhaka, Feb 25 (V7N)- Bangladesh Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said that no new investigation commission will be formed over the BDR killings, reiterating the government’s commitment to implementing earlier recommendations.
The minister made the remarks on Wednesday morning after paying tribute to the martyred army members, referring to the tragic events linked to the Pilkhana massacre.
He stated that the interim government had already formed a national independent investigation commission, which produced around 70 recommendations, adding that efforts would be made to implement them gradually.
Salahuddin Ahmed emphasized that proper justice will be ensured and stressed the importance of preventing such incidents in the country’s future.
Describing the killings as a threat to the nation’s independence and sovereignty, he said the objective behind the incident was to weaken the army, adding that only those who do not believe in the country’s sovereignty could be involved in such acts.
The BDR mutiny remains one of the deadliest episodes in Bangladesh’s history, with authorities continuing to focus on accountability and institutional reforms.
