Dhaka, Oct 28 (V7N)- Investors rallied in Dhaka’s Motijheel area today, calling for the resignation of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) chairman amid a prolonged two-month slump in the stock market.
The demonstration, organized by the Bangladesh Pujibazar Biniogkari Oikko Parishad, took place outside the former Dhaka Stock Exchange building at around 10:00 a.m. Protesters argued that the BSEC chairman had failed to implement effective measures to stabilize the market or halt its continued downturn.
"He hasn’t initiated any substantial steps to aid in the market’s recovery," claimed one of the demonstrators.
