DHAKA, Dec 31,  (V7N) - The 29th edition of the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) will officially open tomorrow, January 1, 2025, at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal. The month-long fair will be inaugurated by the Chief Adviser to the interim government, Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, at 10:00 am.

At a press conference held today, Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin shared key details about the event. The press conference also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and Uber, which will provide special discounts on transport to and from the fair venue. Additionally, the fair will feature a new e-ticketing system for the first time.

Pavilions and Exhibitors: A total of 361 pavilions and stalls will showcase a wide range of products, including textiles, machinery, electronics, jute, handicrafts, processed foods, cosmetics, and more. The fair will also feature foreign participants from 7 countries: India, Pakistan, Turkey, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.

Special Zones: This year’s fair includes separate sourcing corners, electronics, and furniture zones, as well as a dedicated technology corner for younger visitors and a seating corner for senior citizens.

Youth Pavilion: A Youth Pavilion has been established to encourage young entrepreneurs in export trade, alongside seminars focused on potential industry sectors.

Cultural and Recreational Areas: Visitors will also enjoy cultural displays, a children's park, and dedicated spaces such as the July Square and Chhatrish Chattar to honor student movements.

Safety and Security: The fair will have a robust security presence with law enforcement agencies ensuring safety, surveillance through CCTV, and daily anti-adulteration mobile courts to maintain food quality.

Facilities and Services:

The exhibition center is equipped with ample parking, bank booths, medical services, and a mother and child center.

The fair will run from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm daily, with extended hours until 10:00 pm on weekends.

With strong participation from both local and international exhibitors, the DITF promises to be an exciting event showcasing the best of Bangladesh’s trade and industry.
