Hobiganj, Jan 04, (V7N) - A conference for engineers was held in Hobiganj to celebrate the 27th anniversary of the Forum of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (FDIB). The event took place on Friday morning at the Shaistaganj Haji Abdul Barik Convention Hall.
 
The conference was chaired by Engineer Ikramul Majid Dulal, President of FDIB's Hobiganj District branch, with Engineer Asaduzzaman Reza, General Secretary, serving as the moderator. The chief guest was Engineer Kazi Maulana Mukhlasur Rahman, Advisor of FDIB's Hobiganj District branch, Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Hobiganj District, and candidate for Member of Parliament from Hobiganj-4 constituency.
 
Special guests included Engineer Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, Central Joint General Secretary and Director of the Dhaka South Region of FDIB, Engineer Tariqul Islam Tarek, Central Office Secretary, Principal Kazi Mohsin Ahmed, and Zia Uddin Bhuiyan, Manager of Glory Agro Product Limited. Moinul Hasan Ratan, President of Shaistaganj Press Club, and over 350 engineers were also present.
 
Following the discussion, a new 25-member committee of FDIB's Hobiganj District branch was announced, with Engineer Ikramul Majid Dulal as President, Asaduzzaman Chowdhury Reza as General Secretary, Saikat Islam as Organizing Secretary, and Zia Uddin Bhuiyan as Information Secretary.
 
Speakers emphasized the importance of engineers demonstrating professionalism and integrity in their work, stating that failure to do so would lead to accountability not only to the authorities but also to the Almighty. They warned that lack of integrity could cause one’s career to falter quickly.
 
In his speech, Engineer Kazi Maulana Mukhlasur Rahman stressed the need for both competence and honesty in building a modern nation. He recalled the unity of students and the public on August 5 and encouraged engineers to continue their work in nation-building and to collaborate to find solutions to any challenges they face.
