Dhaka, Mar 01 (V7N) – Fuel oil prices for consumers in Bangladesh have remained unchanged for the month of March, as announced by the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources in a press release on Saturday.
The press release said that, in accordance with the pricing formula for determining fuel oil prices, the government has decided to maintain a relatively affordable supply for March.
As per the existing price structure, the selling price of diesel has been set at Tk105 per litre.
Similarly, kerosene remains at Tk105 per litre, octane at Tk126 per litre, and petrol at Tk122 per litre.
In February, the prices of petrol, octane, diesel, and kerosene increased by TK1 per litre compared to January.
Since March last year, the government has been adjusting fuel oil prices automatically in line with global market trends, announcing new prices every month.
The state-owned Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) consistently makes a profit from selling octane and petrol.
However, BPC’s overall profit and loss primarily depend on diesel, which accounts for 75% of the country's total fuel consumption.
