Bagerhat, Feb 17, (V7N) – In Morrelganj, Bagerhat, it has been reported that a group of armed individuals stole 4 cows and 1 goat from a house in Kharaikhali village. The incident occurred on Saturday night, around 7 PM, at the house of Montu Hawlader, who is now deceased. The stolen livestock is worth approximately Tk 2.5 lakh. Following the theft, Rina Khanom, the widow of Montu Hawlader, filed a complaint at the local police station on Sunday, naming six individuals from the area.
 
In a press conference held at Bagerhat Press Club on Sunday afternoon, the victim, Rina Begum, shared her account of the incident. She claimed that a group of 10-12 armed men, led by Sohag and Hasib Kazee, the sons of former chairman and BNP leader Abdul Khalek Kazee, stormed her house. The attackers held the family at gunpoint and stole the cows and goat.
 
However, Maulana Abdul Khalek Kazee, the former chairman of Panchkoron Union and BNP leader, denied the accusations. He stated that no such incident occurred and alleged that certain Awami League leaders were trying to damage his reputation by fabricating the theft.
 
Regarding the incident, Officer-in-Charge of Morrelganj Police Station, Md. Rakibul Hasan, confirmed that the police had visited the crime scene and were attempting to recover the stolen animals. He assured that legal action would be taken if the allegations were found to be true.
