Habiganj, Aug 18 (V7N) — Police recovered the partially decomposed body of an unidentified man from an abandoned medical officer’s residential building inside Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex in Habiganj on Monday.
The body was found hanging inside the abandoned building, locally known as ‘Dalia’.
An Ansar member discovered the body while cleaning the unused building around noon and informed the police. On receiving the information, police from Madhabpur Police Station went to the scene and recovered the body.
Madhabpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sohel Rana confirmed the recovery and said police were working to establish the identity of the deceased.
Police suspect the man may have died at least a month ago. As the body had reportedly remained there for an extended period, it had become partially decomposed.
The identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the death have not yet been established.
Police said legal procedures are underway to identify the body and determine the actual cause of death.
