MANIKGANJ, Jan 11, 2025 (V7N) – Ferry services on the Daulatdia-Paturia route resumed this morning after a three-hour suspension caused by dense fog. Operations restarted at 10:10 AM following a decrease in fog density.
Nasir Mahmud Chowdhury, Deputy General Manager of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Paturia Ghat, reported that four ferries—Faridpur, Bonolota, Keramat Ali, and Shah Poran—were waiting at Paturia Ghat, while six ferries—Kumilla, Bhasha Shahid Borkot, Kapoti, Beer Shreshtha Ruhul Amin, Hasna Hena, and Beer Shreshtha Motiur—were at Daulatdia Ghat.

Additionally, Beer Shreshtha Jahangir was stranded in the middle of the Padma River during the fog delay. The ferry services were halted at 7:10 AM to prevent accidents due to poor visibility, but all ferries began moving again once conditions improved. In related news, ferry movement on the Aricha-Kazirhat route also returned to normal after a 2.5-hour suspension, which lasted from 7:00 AM to 9:50 AM, according to BIWTC sources at Aricha Ghat.
