Jan 17 (V7N) — District BNP General Secretary Advocate Farhad Iqbal distributed winter clothes among underprivileged people suffering from the cold in Ward No. 6 College Para of Tangail Municipality. The distribution took place in front of the house of the late Shukur Miah, former councilor of Ward No. 6, on Friday morning. Around four hundred people received winter clothes to alleviate the cold.
Former district BNP vice-president Ataur Rahman Jinnah, former Ward 6 BNP president Md. Shamsul Haque, city BNP president Mehedi Hasan Alim, Sadar Upazila BNP vice-president Mamun Sarkar, Tati Dal general secretary Habibur Rahman, Swechchhasebak Dal leader Ripon Chowdhury, and former Chhatra Dal leader Rafiqul Islam were present at the event. Former Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal member Md. Mehedi Hasan (Johnny) also attended.
The program was conducted by Sadar Upazila BNP Vice President Hadiuzzaman Sohel. Leaders and activists from various BNP-affiliated organizations also joined the initiative.
In a separate event, winter clothes, including hats and blankets, were distributed to 675 families in Chilmari, Kurigram, by the 'Pipra' Foundation, a voluntary organization formed by Dhaka University alumni. The distribution took place at Chilmari Government College grounds on Saturday afternoon.
Upazila Executive Officer Sabuj Kumar Basak, along with the Pipra Foundation's director and local volunteers, were present during the distribution.
