Rangamati, Feb 13 (V7N) - As part of the ongoing "Shaitan Shikar" operation, police have arrested two individuals in Rangamati.
Rangamati Kotwali police station's Officer-in-Charge, Mohammad Sahed Uddin, confirmed that on the evening of February 12, based on secret information, they arrested Md. Saiduzzaman Pappu from his residence in Banarupa Katapahar, the former law secretary of the district student league and a student of Computer Science & Engineering at Rangamati Science and Technology University. Pappu was a former student leader and candidate for president in the university's student council.
Later, on the same evening, police arrested Yasin Bandar, a member of the Municipal Awami League, from the Sornatila area of the city.
The police have confirmed that a total of 16 individuals have been arrested in the operation so far, including prominent political figures from the Awami League and its associated organizations.
