Rajshahi Feb 15 (V7N) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned eleven teachers of Rajshahi University (RU) for questioning regarding alleged corruption involving former Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdus Sobhan. The summons was issued through a notification signed by Khorshed Alam, Assistant Director of the ACC, on Wednesday (Feb 12).

According to the notification, Professor Sobhan abused his power to embezzle a large sum of government funds through various irregularities. He allegedly appointed 138 teachers and employees in violation of the Education Ministry's directives.

To probe the allegations, the ACC has set up a three-member investigation team, headed by Deputy Director Md. Saiduzzaman, with Afnan Jannat Keya and Md. Abdullah Al Mamun as members. The summoned teachers are scheduled to appear before the ACC on February 16-17 to provide statements.

The ACC stated that the summons aims to ensure a transparent and impartial investigation into the alleged corruption.
