Teknaf, July 9 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Coast Guard has recovered a locally made firearm, ammunition and gunpowder during a raid in the Moheshkhaliya Para area of Teknaf in Cox's Bazar district.
 
According to a Coast Guard press release issued on Tuesday evening, a team from Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a special operation at around 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday based on intelligence information.
 
During a search of a suspected house, the team seized one locally made firearm, three rounds of live ammunition, 37 empty MT cartridges and 25 grams of gunpowder.
 
No arrests were made as the suspects reportedly fled the scene after sensing the presence of law enforcement personnel.
 
The recovered firearm, ammunition and explosives-related materials have been seized, while legal proceedings are underway.
 
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon said the force will continue its operations against illegal firearms and criminal activities to maintain law and order in the region.
