Dhaka, Jan 11 (V7N) —Primary and Mass Education Adviser Bidhan Ranjan Roy has said that government school teachers, being employed under government regulations, are prohibited from engaging in politics, and legal action will be taken if such involvement is proven.
He further said: "There has been a delay in distributing books for a few classes due to revisions and the cancellation of an external tender. Fourth and fifth-grade books for primary schools will be delivered by January."
Bidhan Ranjan made these remarks on Saturday afternoon while speaking to journalists after a meeting with tenth-grade officials at the National Academy for Primary Education (NEP) in Mymensingh.
He said: "To enhance students' learning while reducing costs, private educational institutions are being brought under the registration system. The government is working to improve the quality of education, and for that purpose, changes have been made to the curriculum and examination system."
During the event, Farid Ahmed, Director of the National Academy for Primary Education in Mymensingh; Sadia Ummul Banin, Deputy Director; Mizanur Rahman Khan, District Primary Education Officer; and other officials were present.
