Tangail, Sep 07 (V7N) - In Tangail, a tri-annual conference was held for the Teacher and Staff Unity Coalition and its affiliated organizations, including BAKSIS, BASHIS, BAMASIS, and BAKASIS. The event took place at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Major General Mahmudul Hasan Adarsha College auditorium.
 
The conference was presided over by A.K.M. Abdul Awal, the President of the Tangail District Branch of the Teacher and Staff Unity Coalition and BAKSIS. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Mohammad Selim Bhuiyan, Chairman of the Bangladesh Teacher and Staff Unity Coalition.
 
Special addresses were given by Mohammad Zakir Hossain, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Teachers Association, Maulana Delwar Hossain, President of the Bangladesh Madrasa Teachers Association, and Riyan Raja, speaking on behalf of the teachers. The event was attended by teachers, staff, and employees from various schools and colleges throughout the district.
 
The speakers called for the removal of all disparities in the education sector, the nationalization of employment, an increase in the retirement age to 65, full festival allowances, and a 45% rise in house rent allowances based on the pay scale. They emphasized these as critical demands and expressed their confidence in the chief advisor, hoping for genuine efforts to address these issues. The conference was also attended by the coordinators from Tangail.
