Los Angeles, Jan 19 (V7N) – As the destructive wildfires continue to ravage Los Angeles, more stars are sharing their stories of loss and giving back to the community.

Zooey Deschanel recently revealed that her childhood home in Palisades, California, was destroyed in the ongoing fires. The actress shared emotional photos on Instagram with her sister, Emily Deschanel, mourning the loss of the home, which held countless family memories. Zooey described the house as “spectacularly beautiful” and full of sentimental treasures like family photos, artwork, and her great-great-grandfather’s furniture. “All have vanished into thin air,” she wrote.

The fires in Los Angeles County, particularly the Palisades and Eaton fires, have burned more than 37,000 acres, killing at least 27 people, according to the LA County Medical Examiner’s Office. Over 10,600 structures have been destroyed, including homes and businesses. The Eaton Fire is now the fifth deadliest and second-most destructive in California’s history.

Despite the loss, Zooey expressed gratitude toward the firefighters, friends, and the Los Angeles community for their support. “To the strangers who have lifted our spirits with kind gestures: you are the true meaning of community,” she said. Zooey also took the opportunity to use her birthday to encourage donations to the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association or Baby2Baby in her honor. Her fiancé, Jonathan Scott, a contractor and interior designer, pledged to help restore the home, saying he would do his best to restore its beauty and honor its history.

Meanwhile, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have also joined efforts to support Los Angeles’ first responders. The couple, who were recently engaged, shared photos on Instagram while helping distribute food and supplies to emergency workers. Blanco also encouraged companies to donate more supplies, stating, "We are doing more drops!!!"

In response to the devastating fires, Spotify has canceled its major Grammy Week events, including the Songwriter of the Year and Best New Artist parties. The streaming service pledged to donate $5 million to fire relief efforts, including support for MusiCares, FireAid, and the GoFundMe pages of affected artists and musicians. The company also plans to promote relief efforts on its platform.

As the community comes together to support those affected, celebrities and organizations are doing their part to help rebuild and provide relief during this challenging time.
