Dhaka, Feb 13 (V7N) – Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said initiatives have been taken to either eliminate police verification for passport issuance or make the process as simple as possible if verification is still required.
The adviser made the statement while responding to journalists' questions after inaugurating an online app on Thursday, in the conference room of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Jahangir said: "Many people arrive from different countries with on-arrival visas. Currently, issuing this visa takes about an hour, but once this software system is implemented, it will be possible to issue on-arrival visas within 10 minutes."
