DHAKA, April 10, (V7N) - The UK trade envoy to Bangladesh, Rt. Hon. the Baroness Rosie Winterton, met with Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin at the Bangladesh Secretariat today. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral interests, improving trade, and fostering investment between the two nations.During the discussion, Bashir highlighted that the UK is one of Bangladesh's primary export destinations and emphasized the potential for expanding bilateral trade by removing existing trade barriers.

He urged Baroness Winterton to engage the private sector in efforts to further enhance trade relations.Baroness Winterton acknowledged the UK's ongoing support for various reforms in Bangladesh, including economic reforms. She expressed her willingness to assist in building trade negotiation capacity and developing trade policy, reinforcing the UK's commitment to supporting the Ministry of Commerce.The meeting was attended by British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke and Commerce Secretary Mabubur Rahman, underscoring the collaborative efforts to strengthen economic ties between Bangladesh and the UK.
