Antalya, Turkey, April 11 (V7N) — Bangladesh has been lauded for its growing diplomatic role in Asia, as Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Kairat Sarybay, praised the country’s active contributions during a high-level meeting at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) 2025.
In a meeting held on the sidelines of the forum, Bangladesh’s Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain and Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md. Mahfuj Alam discussed bilateral cooperation and regional initiatives with the CICA chief. According to a statement from the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the talks focused on strengthening ties between CICA and Bangladesh, with both sides agreeing to explore new avenues for cooperation.
Hossain commended Sarybay’s leadership in transforming CICA into a full-fledged regional international organization and proposed deeper interaction between CICA and Bangladeshi sectoral officials to further enhance cooperation.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum, hosted by the Turkish Foreign Ministry under the patronage of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, kicked off today with the theme “Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World.” The three-day global gathering is drawing over 4,000 participants, including more than 20 heads of state, 50 foreign ministers, and representatives from international organizations, academia, business, and civil society.
