CHATTOGRAM, JUNE 02 (V7N): State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin emphasized that human service is driven by genuine sincerity and dedication rather than holding public office or wielding institutional authority.
The State Minister delivered his remarks on Thursday afternoon while serving as the chief guest at the launch of the "Month-long Tree Plantation and Distribution Programme 2026." Organized by the Chattogram Divisional Unit of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF), the environmental campaign was held at the Research and Farm-based Campus of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) in Hathazari to mark the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
Speaking in his capacity as a Director of the ZRF, Barrister Mir Helal outlined the core operational philosophies of the humanitarian organization:
Grassroots Welfare: He noted that the foundation was established by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman with a central focus on serving humanity, building structural safety nets, and empowering marginalized rural communities.
Climate Resilience: The State Minister urged citizens to actively participate in extensive tree planting and the sustained upkeep of saplings, describing it as a necessary civic duty to maintain regional ecological balance and combat the accelerating effects of climate change.
Symbolic Launch: To formally kick off the month-long distribution drive, Mir Helal planted a ceremonial neem sapling on the university research grounds.
A Collaborative Institutional Initiative: The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Ahsanul Haque, Director of the One Health Institute at CVASU. Prominent academic leaders—including Chattogram University (CU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Al Forkan and CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman—attended the ceremony as special guests, lending institutional support to the regional environmental preservation roadmap.
