Dhaka, Oct 2 (V7N) – Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat tonight made a surprise visit to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), reviewing baggage delivery services and directing officials to improve passenger comfort and increase baggage trolleys.
The minister visited the airport at around 10:30 pm and inspected the baggage belt area, according to a press release.
He spoke with passengers waiting to collect their luggage and asked how long they had waited after disembarking. He also sought their views on the baggage delivery process.
Passengers expressed satisfaction with baggage delivery management and said they had received their luggage within the stipulated time, according to the release.
Millat stressed the need to further improve passenger services and directed officials to give the highest priority to passengers' comfort and satisfaction across airport operations. He also instructed the authorities to promptly increase the number of baggage trolleys.
Relevant airport officials and personnel on duty were present during the visit.
The surprise visit is part of the government's efforts to improve service quality at the country's premier international airport. Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport handles millions of passengers annually and has been undergoing various upgrades to enhance passenger experience, including the construction of the Third Terminal. The minister's directives aim to address passenger concerns and ensure efficient airport operations.
