Netrokona, Mar 19 (V7N)– ATM Abdul Bari Danny, Joint Religious Affairs Secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) central committee, delivered a strong message to the interim government, asserting the BNP's enduring popularity and warning against delays in restoring voting rights.

Speaking at a prayer and iftar mahfil organized in Netrokona district town on Wednesday evening, March 19, Danny declared that those who attempted to eliminate the BNP from politics have failed. He emphasized the sacrifices of BNP leaders and activists, stating that they are remembered with respect despite facing risks and torture.

Addressing the interim government directly, Danny said, "People from all walks of life in Bangladesh have supported you. We will not say whether the time has come to withdraw that support or not. Do not make yourself controversial. If you delay the reforms that the people expect and adopt any strategy or method or waste time by neglecting the main responsibility given to restore the lost voting rights of the people, then the people of the country will not accept it."

He criticized what he perceived as delays and shifting timelines for reforms, stating, "Sometimes it is said that it is December, sometimes it is reform. The father of reform is BNP."

Danny also expressed his commitment to the people, stating, "I am your brother, I organized today's iftar party in your honor. I want to be by your side as your son, as your brother, until death."

The Iftar and Doa Mahfil was attended by several prominent figures, including former district president and member of parliament freedom fighter Md. Ashraf Uddin Khan, former president Advocate Nuruzzaman Nuru, central executive committee member Dr. Arifa Jasmine Nahin, and other leaders from the BNP and its affiliates.

Danny's remarks reflect the ongoing political tensions in Bangladesh and the BNP's efforts to maintain its position amidst a changing political landscape.
