Nov 05, V7N- Buffalo Bills defensive end Dawuane Smoot will undergo wrist surgery following an injury sustained in Sunday's victory over the Miami Dolphins and will be placed on injured reserve, according to head coach Sean McDermott. Smoot, 29, will miss a minimum of four games, with his exact recovery timeline to be determined after surgery. McDermott expressed hope for Smoot’s return later in the season, though the full extent of the injury won't be known until doctors perform the procedure.
 
In his first season with Buffalo, Smoot has started four of the seven games he’s played, contributing 12 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, and a forced fumble, playing in nearly half of the team’s defensive snaps. Previously, Smoot spent seven seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who drafted him in the third round in 2017. Over his career, he has recorded 145 tackles, 25 sacks, 30 tackles for loss, 67 quarterback hits, six forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 106 games.
