Dhaka, Mar 08 (V7N) –Bangladesh women’s kabaddi team made it to the semi-finals of the Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2025 in Iran after beating Thailand Friday.

 

It was the last match of the group as Bangladesh won by 42-27 points.

Bangladesh also confirmed bronze en route to securing the last-four spot.

“It’s a proud moment for Bangladesh kabaddi. I participated in this competition as player before but never managed a medal. Today my dream has come true as a coach,” said Bangladesh team’s assistant coach Shahnaz Parvin Maleka.

Bangladesh earned their first win of the competition against Malaysia by 52-12 points after losing to favourites India in the opening Group A match.

India finished as group winners while Bangladesh placed second.

Hosts Iran and Nepal are the top two finishers of Group B

Bangladesh will face Iran in the second semi-final Friday night.
