Jhalakathi, Mar 09, (V7N)— A 35-year-old man, Md. Naim, died after being electrocuted while irrigating his pond in Kanthalia upazila, Jhalakathi. The incident occurred on Sunday (March 9) afternoon in Amribunia village.

Naim, son of Md. Chunnu Mia, was using an electric jug mortar to pump water when he accidentally came into contact with an electrical current. Local residents rushed him to the Upazila Health Complex (AMUA), where on-duty health officer Dr. Tapas Kumar Talukder declared him dead.

Confirming the incident, Kanthalia Police Station OC Mong Chenla stated that authorities have registered a case of accidental death.
